Mark Ross sentenced to life for murdering Amazon driver in Leeds

Mark Ross, 32, has been sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 30 years for the murder of Amazon delivery driver Claudiu Carol Kondor, 42, who was killed while attempting to stop Ross from stealing his van in Leeds. The incident occurred on August 20, 2023, when Ross climbed into the driver’s seat of Kondor's van while he was delivering a package, prompting Kondor to cling onto the passenger door. Ross recklessly drove at speeds of nearly 60mph, swerving and crashing into parked cars to dislodge Kondor, who ultimately died from head and chest injuries. Witnesses reported seeing Kondor shouting for help as he hung onto the van, while Ross claimed he was unaware of his presence. In court, Kondor's fiancé expressed the profound emotional impact of his death, stating her life has been irrevocably altered. The court found Ross guilty of murder despite his denial and attempts to downplay his actions.
