Warrington honors darts champion Luke Littler as honorary citizen

Luke Littler, at just 18 years old, is set to be honored as an honorary citizen of Warrington, his hometown, by the Warrington Borough Council. Littler made history as the youngest darts world champion earlier this year, winning the title at 17 and accumulating 11 PDC titles since his debut in 2024. His accomplishments also include being named the 2024 BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year and raising over £1 million for Prostate Cancer UK. The council's recognition highlights his significant contributions to both the sport and his community, which have sparked a surge of interest in darts, referred to as 'Littlermania.' Additionally, the Warrington Wolves rugby league team will temporarily rename their stadium in his honor for an upcoming match. The ceremony to bestow the honorary citizenship will take place at Parr Hall on Monday.
