Russia Shelled Donetsk, Kherson Residential Areas Injuring Dozens

Russian forces have launched multiple attacks across eastern Ukraine, particularly targeting cities in the Donetsk region such as Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, and Slavyansk, as well as other areas including Kherson and Zaporizhzhya. Notably, on August 2, Druzhkivka was shelled resulting in seven injuries and significant damage to residential and commercial properties, with drone strikes suspected. Kramatorsk experienced drone attacks causing fires in residential buildings and a nine-story building fire with one injury reported, following a separate deadly strike on July 31 that destroyed a five-story building and killed one person while injuring 11. Slavyansk and the village of Drobyshevo also faced enemy fire leading to several fires quickly extinguished by firefighters. In Kherson, shelling on August 1 injured two civilians and a drone strike in Kharkiv caused 11 casualties, highlighting ongoing violence in residential areas. Ukrainian officials have urged evacuations in Kramatorsk and continue to assess the extent of damage and casualties as the conflict persists.
