Multiple U.S. Men Charged With Murder, Assault After Fatal Incidents

Multiple violent incidents across several states have resulted in arrests and ongoing investigations. In Asheboro, North Carolina, Christopher Michael Hicks was arrested for assault and drug charges after a fight left a victim with visible injuries. In Brunswick County, North Carolina, Edward Christopher Stutey faces a murder charge following the death of Jamie Caldwell from a June assault. Birmingham, Alabama police arrested De’Aerius Johnson for the murder of a 23-year-old man and assault of a woman wounded in a shooting. In Greenville, Mississippi, Santwan Johnson was charged with the murder of his brother following a shooting. Additionally, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, a driver was charged with felony DUI after a crash that left a young man critically injured while setting out traffic cones, and authorities are searching for an escaped inmate.
