Thousand Oaks Man Arrested After Homemade Bomb Explosion
A 66-year-old man, David Kornbluth, was arrested in Thousand Oaks after an explosion at his home on March 11 resulted in minor injuries to his hands. Authorities responded to the incident on Hendrix Avenue, where it was discovered that Kornbluth had ignited materials, leading to the blast. Following the explosion, deputies conducted a search and found additional materials believed to be explosive in nature, prompting them to secure the area and obtain a search warrant. Kornbluth has been charged with possession of a destructive device and possession of materials to create such devices, with bail set at $100,000. After receiving treatment at a local hospital, he was booked into the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility. The Sheriff’s Office is urging the community to report any suspicious activities.
