Liverpool Pursue Isak as Newcastle Targets Sesko
Liverpool have made a £110m bid for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak after Darwin Nunez's looming transfer to Al Hilal, but Newcastle rejected the offer and are holding out for £150m. Isak has expressed a desire to leave and is training separately from Newcastle's first team, while the club searches for replacements such as Benjamin Sesko and Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson. Manchester United remain a strong contender for Sesko, with both they and Newcastle submitting significant bids, but Sesko has not yet made a final decision. Liverpool are also considering PSG's Bradley Barcola as an alternative to Isak, though PSG sources suggest Barcola may stay unless a substantial offer and player push arise. Liverpool's aggressive recruitment, including the signing of Hugo Ekitike, could cause squad tension if both Ekitike and Isak compete for the main striker role. Additionally, Liverpool and Newcastle are interested in Stade Rennais defender Jeremy Jacquet as part of wider efforts to bolster their squads.
