Hirpa, Biwott Win 2025 Paris Marathon

Ethiopian runner Bedatu Hirpa won the women's race at the 2025 Paris Marathon, edging out compatriot Dera Dida by just four seconds with a finishing time of 2:20:45. Hirpa's victory comes after her earlier win in the Dubai Marathon in January, where she also narrowly defeated Dida. In the men's race, Kenya's Benard Biwott finished in 2:05:25, marking his second marathon victory and setting a new personal best, having previously won the Frankfurt Marathon. Djibouti's Ibrahim Hassan secured second place, finishing in 2:06:13, with another Kenyan, Sila Kiptoo, taking third. Both races featured thrilling finishes, with Hirpa and Dida's previous encounter in Dubai echoing in this tight contest.
