Oliver Oakes abruptly resigned as Alpine Formula One team principal shortly after his brother, William Oakes, was arrested and charged with transferring criminal property while in possession of a large amount of cash. William, who is also a director of Hitech Grand Prix alongside Oliver, was stopped in the Silverstone Park area and remanded in custody. Oliver's resignation came amid speculation about team decisions, including the replacement of driver Jack Doohan, though both Oliver and Alpine's Flavio Briatore denied any disagreement related to management.
