Minnesota Man Arrested Over $45K Bondi Bounty
Tyler Maxon Avalos was arrested after allegedly posting a TikTok “wanted” image offering a $45,000 bounty on U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, depicting her with a sniper‑scope red dot and the words “WANTED…DEAD OR ALIVE (PREFERABLY DEAD).” The post, captioned variations of “cough cough / when they don’t serve us, then what?” and posted from the handle “WACKO,” was reported to the FBI on Oct. 9; an emergency disclosure request to TikTok and cooperation from Google and Comcast allowed agents to trace the account to his St. Paul address and arrest him on Oct. 16. Court records show Avalos displayed anarchist symbols and linked to an “Anarchist FAQ,” and he is federally charged with interstate transmission of a threat to injure. Records note prior convictions including a 2022 felony stalking conviction and earlier domestic‑assault and battery convictions; he made an initial court appearance and was released under conditions reported as a personal‑recognizance bond with travel restrictions, a GPS‑monitored curfew, prohibitions on weapons and alcohol, and limited internet access. Authorities and counterterrorism specialists flagged the post’s extremist ties and praised cross‑agency and platform cooperation, and Avalos’s attorney has pleaded not guilty.
