Collins Aerospace awarded $904 million U.S. Navy contract

Collins Aerospace has secured a follow-on contract valued at up to $904 million over five years to enhance the U.S. Navy's Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC), a sophisticated system that integrates sensors across various platforms for improved Integrated Fire Control. This contract continues Collins' long-standing role as the sole provider of CEC since 1985, following an earlier five-year Design Agent agreement. The enhancements to the CEC will include increased interoperability and better coordination among weapons and sensors, essential for the Navy's Distributed Maritime Operations. Collins has successfully deployed the system on over 174 platforms for the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and international forces. Ryan Bunge, a senior executive at Collins, emphasized that these developments are crucial for modernizing military operational capabilities. The contract also allows for future task orders supporting ongoing engineering efforts.
