Anchorage Digital Launches Venture Unit Supporting Early-Stage Onchain Protocols

Anchorage Digital, a major U.S. crypto custody firm, has launched Anchorage Digital Ventures, a new venture capital arm dedicated to supporting early-stage on-chain protocol teams. The initiative aims to provide not only capital but also hands-on strategic support from Anchorage's product, engineering, and go-to-market teams to help protocols become institutionally ready from day one. The venture unit focuses on foundational blockchain infrastructure sectors such as Bitcoin DeFi, real-world asset tokenization, decentralized identity, and solutions addressing institutional adoption challenges. This move comes amid a challenging crypto venture funding environment with a significant drop in overall investment, positioning Anchorage to leverage its institutional expertise to accelerate development and adoption of scalable digital asset solutions. Selected teams will be invited to pitch at a private demo day during the Token2049 conference in Singapore, with funding and support announced on a rolling basis. Anchorage's CEO, Nathan McCauley, emphasized that the program is designed to clear operational hurdles and help protocols navigate the complex path to market confidently.
