Coney Island Cyclone and Top Thrill 2 Closed

The Coney Island Cyclone roller coaster remains closed for repairs after a crack was discovered in the chain sprocket of its motor room. Luna Park emphasizes safety and daily maintenance, and the ride will reopen once repairs are completed and it passes inspection by the Department of Buildings. No injuries were reported during the evacuation of riders. Meanwhile, Cedar Point's new Top Thrill 2 roller coaster will remain closed for the rest of 2024 due to ongoing mechanical modifications. The ride, which opened briefly in May, is undergoing work by its manufacturer, Zamperla, and is expected to reopen in 2025. This follows the closure of its predecessor, Top Thrill Dragster, after a serious accident in 2021.
