Stellantis Resolves EV Delays and Tesla Access Expands

Stellantis has resolved software issues that delayed the launch of new EV models from Dodge and Jeep, with the Dodge Charger Daytona and Jeep Wagoneer S now shipping to dealers. These delays were primarily due to software challenges rather than hardware problems, impacting the arrival of the Wagoneer S more significantly as it ships from Mexico. Meanwhile, seven additional non-Tesla automakers, including BMW, Genesis, and Kia, are set to gain access to Tesla’s Supercharger network, enhancing road-trip accessibility for EV owners. However, Kia has announced a delay in its Supercharger access from the expected January 15 date to spring 2025, impacting its EV owners' ability to use the network. This delay follows previous challenges faced by other manufacturers in securing adapters for Supercharger compatibility, highlighting ongoing logistical hurdles in expanding charging infrastructure. The expansion of Supercharger access reflects Tesla's strategy to open its network to non-Tesla EVs, driven in part by federal incentives.
