SEC Sends 13 Teams to Postseason Bowls
The Southeastern Conference (SEC) will have 13 teams participate in postseason bowl games, including three in the College Football Playoff (CFP). No. 2 Georgia will compete in the Allstate Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Day, while No. 5 Texas hosts Clemson and No. 7 Tennessee faces Ohio State in first-round playoff games on December 21. Alabama, having narrowly missed the playoff after a last-second loss to Clemson, will play Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl. The conference's bowl pool also includes assignments for teams like LSU, Ole Miss, and Arkansas in various postseason games. Louisville will play Washington in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl, marking their fourth consecutive bowl appearance. The SEC's playoff selections and bowl assignments reflect a competitive season with significant implications for future rankings and matchups.
