Argentina Rejects Coup Attempt in Bolivia

Argentina's President Javier Milei has reversed Argentina's position on Bolivia's attempted coup, now denouncing it as 'fake' and 'fraudulent,' aligning with Bolivia's opposition and former President Evo Morales. Supporters of Bolivia's President Luis Arce rallied after authorities arrested 17 people, including top military figures, in connection with the coup. UN Independent Expert George Katrougalos strongly condemned the coup, emphasizing the need to support Bolivia's democracy and prevent a return to authoritarian regimes. Argentina's administration also labeled Bolivia's coup claims as false, expressing concerns over socialist governments evolving into dictatorships. Despite the swift quashing of the coup, Bolivia's President highlighted the lack of popular support for the attempt.
