Man City 3-2 Arsenal; Moves to Second
Iman Beney scored a late winner as Manchester City beat Arsenal 3-2 in the Women’s Super League, moving City up to second place and extending their winning run to four straight league games. Khadija “Bunny” Shaw opened with a header, Mariona Caldentey equalised seconds after the restart, and Kerstin Casparij restored City’s lead before Chloe Kelly curled in an 83rd-minute leveller. Beney’s low finish five minutes later (around the 88th minute) secured the victory. The defeat left Arsenal winless in three WSL matches and five points behind leaders Chelsea, increasing pressure ahead of their Champions League tie with Lyon. The match was played in blustery conditions and was marked by late defensive errors from Arsenal and signs of City clicking under new head coach Andrée Jeglertz.
