Driver in Park Tavern Crash Released

Steven Bailey, accused of killing two people and injuring nine others by crashing his vehicle into the Park Tavern patio in St. Louis Park, has been granted conditional release from jail. Bailey, who faces multiple charges including third-degree murder and criminal vehicular homicide, will be released on October 14, 2024, after posting a $500,000 bond. He will be under electronic home monitoring and transported to the NUWAY Alliance treatment facility, prohibited from contacting victims or their families, and barred from driving or consuming alcohol. His blood-alcohol content at the time of the crash was 0.325, four times the legal limit. Bailey has a history of DWI convictions, with five prior offenses. The court's decision came despite the severity of the charges, due to Bailey meeting specific conditions for release.
