Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced a 50% subsidy for electricity consumers using up to 100 units per month in plain areas and 200 units in hilly regions, benefiting approximately 11.5 lakh consumers. This initiative was revealed during a birthday event where the CM also laid the foundation for five ADB-funded electricity projects and inaugurated the installation of 16 lakh smart meters across the Garhwal and Kumaon regions. An investment of around Rs 977 crore is allocated for these projects aimed at improving the state's electricity supply and distribution. Additionally, the CM provided possession letters to beneficiaries of the Laxmi Awas Yojana. Dhami emphasized the government's commitment to sustainable development and economic growth in Uttarakhand.
