Holocaust Survivor Dies Weeks After Iranian Missile Attack in Israel

Olga Weissberg, a 91-year-old Holocaust survivor from Rehovot, died after collapsing at her home nearly two months following serious injuries sustained during an Iranian missile attack in June. She had undergone multiple surgeries and was recently released from the hospital to recover when her condition suddenly worsened. Weissberg left behind a husband, daughter, grandson, and great-grandson. Her funeral was held at Rehovot’s New Cemetery. The missile barrage, part of Iran’s response to Israeli strikes on Iranian military targets, killed 31 people in Israel and injured over 3,000, including other victims such as an 85-year-old man and a Filipina caregiver who succumbed to their wounds weeks after the attack. It remains unclear if Weissberg’s death was directly caused by her injuries, but her passing marks the second death of a Holocaust survivor linked to the missile strikes.
