Arthur Jones, Former Ravens Lineman, Dies at 39
Former NFL defensive lineman Arthur Jones, a fifth‑round pick out of Syracuse who helped the Baltimore Ravens win Super Bowl XLVII, has died at 39, the team announced Friday; no cause of death has been released. Jones played seven NFL seasons (2010–2017) with Baltimore, Indianapolis and Washington, totaling 173 tackles and 10 sacks and registering a sack and fumble recovery in the Ravens’ Super Bowl victory. He was the older brother of UFC champion Jon Jones and Pro Bowl pass rusher Chandler Jones. The Ravens, Syracuse, his Union‑Endicott high school community, teammates, fans and figures across the sports and UFC communities issued tributes praising his infectious smile, positivity and impact. Reports say Jones had battled health issues in recent years, but officials have not provided further details on his death or funeral arrangements.
