Pilot Dies in Texas Plane Crash Near Airport
A Cessna Citation jet crashed shortly after taking off from Mesquite Metro Airport in Texas, resulting in the death of the sole pilot on board. The crash occurred around 7:40 a.m. in a wooded area near East Cartwright Road and Lawson Road, with no damage reported to nearby residences or structures. The Mesquite Fire Department responded to the scene, extinguishing small fires that resulted from the crash. Witnesses saw a large plume of smoke, and two explosions were reported after the crash. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have launched an investigation into the incident. The pilot has not yet been identified, and this remains a developing story.
