Factory White Ferrari 250 GTO Headlines Mecum Auction
The only factory-painted white Ferrari 250 GTO, known as the 'Bianco Speciale,' will be offered at Mecum's Kissimmee auction in January 2026 after appearing at Monterey Car Week. Originally commissioned in 1962 by British racing team owner John Coombs, the car has a rich racing heritage with drivers such as Graham Hill and Jack Sears. Its unique color was achieved through special approval from Ferrari, and it remains unrestored except for regular maintenance and refinishing. The GTO is expected to fetch an eight-figure sum, following a recent similar model sale for nearly $52 million. The auction highlights a thriving market for rare and unique performance cars, with Bugatti Tourbillon build slots and even a rare Ferrari F40 replica for children also drawing attention. These developments underscore the enduring appeal and escalating value of both historic and bespoke collector automobiles.
