Norwegian Cruise Line Cancels 50+ Cruises Amid 2026-27 Ship Redeployment

Norwegian Cruise Line is canceling over 55 sailings in the 2026-2027 season as part of a major redeployment affecting four ships: Norwegian Gem, Norwegian Dawn, Norwegian Getaway, and Norwegian Joy. The Gem and Dawn will swap homeports, with the Gem moving from Jacksonville to Tampa and the Dawn relocating to Jacksonville, leading to cancellation of all their sailings during the transition period. The Getaway and Joy will remain in their current Florida ports but will cancel several short Bahamas sailings due to port availability issues. Norwegian plans to introduce new, longer, and more immersive itineraries to the Caribbean and the Bahamas for these ships, aiming to offer a wider variety of options and enhance passenger experiences. These changes are motivated by operational efficiency, port availability constraints, and the desire to better meet demand for certain cruise itineraries. Passengers with affected bookings have been notified, and new itineraries are expected to become available for booking soon.
