Hibernian signs Alasana Manneh, pending clearance
Hibernian FC has signed Gambian midfielder Alasana Manneh from Odense Boldklub, marking their first acquisition of the January transfer window. The 26-year-old, who has a background in Barcelona's La Masia academy, has joined on a three-and-a-half-year contract. Head coach David Gray praised Manneh's competitiveness, work ethic, and technical ability, noting his experience in high-level leagues and contributions to his previous club, where he assisted seven goals in 17 matches this season. Although Manneh is expected to strengthen Hibs' midfield, he is unlikely to debut against Aberdeen due to pending visa and international clearance, but should be available for the Scottish Cup match against Ayr United next week. The club is also looking to secure additional players, specifically a goalkeeper and a striker, before the transfer window closes. Hibernian's sporting director highlighted the importance of adding quality to their squad as they aim for a successful second half of the season.
