BYU, Weber State Celebrate 2025 Graduates

Utah's spring 2025 graduation season featured ceremonies at both Brigham Young University (BYU) and Weber State University, celebrating thousands of graduates. BYU's 7,194 graduates were urged by leaders including President C. Shane Reese and Elder Clark G. Gilbert to serve others, uphold faith, and promote peacemaking, while being cautioned against isolation or apologizing for their beliefs. Judge J. Clifford Wallace received an honorary doctorate at BYU for his commitment to the law and public service. President Dallin H. Oaks's story about challenging discriminatory hiring practices was shared to inspire integrity and advocacy for change. At Weber State, first-generation graduate Tate Warren encouraged peers to 'go be great,' crediting familial support and hard work. Both universities emphasized leadership, compassion, and using education to positively impact society.
