16-Year-Old Arrested in Durango Homicide

A 16-year-old male suspect has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 12-year-old boy, who was reportedly his half-brother, in Durango, Colorado. The incident occurred on Thursday morning, October 24, at a residence in the Southwest Horizon Ranch subdivision, where the boy was discovered with apparent stab wounds and a woman believed to be the suspect's mother was injured by a blunt object. The authorities were alerted after a driver involved in a crash, caused by the suspect fleeing the scene, reported the incident. A shelter-in-place order was issued within a four-mile radius during the search for the suspect, who was eventually apprehended about six miles from the crime scene.
