Arson Confirmed at Althorp Estate Farmhouse Fire
A farmhouse on the Althorp Estate, Princess Diana's childhood home and burial site, was destroyed in a deliberate arson attack in the early hours of May 28. Earl Charles Spencer, Diana’s brother and the estate's custodian, expressed shock and sadness over the incident, noting the building was unoccupied at the time. The farmhouse, which dated to the late 18th century and was slated for redevelopment, suffered severe damage and was later razed for safety. Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service contained the blaze to prevent further spread. Authorities have officially confirmed the fire was caused deliberately, though the investigation into those responsible is ongoing. The incident has prompted sadness among the Spencer family and the public, highlighting concerns about vandalism at historic sites.
