Mass Driver Arrested For DUI, Speeding 122 MPH On I-84 Connecticut

Carlos Gallegos-Loja, 23, from Brockton, Massachusetts, was charged with multiple offenses after being stopped by Connecticut State Police for impaired driving on Interstate 84. Troopers first noticed a Chevrolet Traverse pulled over near Exit 44 in West Hartford with its occupants outside, but the vehicle then sped away, later clocked at 122 mph in a 65 mph zone near Exit 39 while weaving between lanes. Upon stopping near Exit 37 in Farmington, officers observed signs of impairment, including slow actions, slow speech, and open alcoholic containers inside the vehicle. Gallegos-Loja admitted to stopping on the shoulder to drink a beer before continuing to drive. He failed a field sobriety test and was arrested, facing charges including driving under the influence, reckless driving, operating without a license, and drinking while driving. He was released on a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Hartford Superior Court on July 15.
