BART Officers Injured in High-Speed Oakland Crash

Three BART police officers and a medical supply driver were hospitalized following a high-speed collision involving two police SUVs and a van near the West Oakland BART Station on Saturday. The officers were responding to a life-threatening overdose call when their vehicles collided at the intersection of Mandela Parkway and Seventh Street. Eyewitness accounts and video footage suggest that one police vehicle ran a red light, causing a T-bone collision with the other police SUV, which then crashed into the medical supply van. All three vehicles sustained heavy damage and ended up on the sidewalk, close to a bus stop. The officers and the driver suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and the condition of the overdose victim remains unknown. The incident is under investigation by the Oakland Police Department, and authorities are seeking additional information from the public.
