Arizona Women's Basketball Appoints Michelle Marciniak as General Manager

Michelle Marciniak, a former WNBA player and NCAA champion with Tennessee, has been appointed as the first general manager of Arizona women's basketball under new head coach Becky Burke. In this newly created role, Marciniak will oversee program operations, staffing, roster management, global recruiting, and NIL development, acting as a strategic advisor to Burke and helping shape the team's long-term vision. Marciniak brings a championship pedigree as a player, coaching experience as a top recruiter at South Carolina, and significant business acumen from her 17 years as co-CEO of the performance bedding company SHEEX. Both Marciniak and Burke emphasized their shared commitment to building a winning culture and elevating the Arizona women's basketball brand nationally. Marciniak's mentorship and leadership are expected to be especially valuable for developing student-athletes on and off the court. Her appointment marks a significant step as she joins a small but growing group of GMs in women's college basketball.
