Norway and Denmark Boost Weapons Production for Ukraine

Denmark is establishing a fund to enhance Ukraine's weapons manufacturing capabilities, as Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen emphasized the need for faster production rates to meet military demands. Meanwhile, Norway is allocating approximately 967 million kroner (around $87.5 million) to bolster its defense sector, focusing on projects that will increase production of critical components like rocket engines and explosives essential for Ukraine's defense against Russian aggression. The Norwegian government’s roadmap includes support for small and medium-sized enterprises and aims to elevate production capacity, which has been historically reduced due to a prolonged period of peace. This funding also extends to initiatives for developing hexamine production, crucial for modern explosives. Both countries recognize the urgent need for increased defense equipment in Ukraine and among their allies, responding to the shifting geopolitical landscape caused by the ongoing conflict. Norway's support extends beyond immediate production needs, with plans for long-term investment in Ukraine through the Nansen Support Program.
