Vijay Sharma, a fake doctor, was arrested for selling fraudulent medical degrees to over 400 students, defrauding them of approximately ₹3.7 crore in Uttar Pradesh. The investigation revealed that Khusro Memorial P.G. College issued these fake MBBS degrees, leaving students unaware of their illegitimacy until they attempted to apply for licenses or jobs. Sharma, who falsely claimed to hold an MBBS degree himself, confessed to generating counterfeit degrees from various universities in India and using the proceeds to acquire substantial property. In connection with this case, two other individuals, including the college owner, were arrested, and the college has been sealed. Sharma has a history of criminal activity, with three prior cases of fraud and forgery linked to a consultancy that issued fake degrees. The case highlights a significant educational scam affecting hundreds of aspiring medical professionals.
