Harrisburg Man Arrested for Tent City Shooting Injuring One
On July 3, a shooting occurred at the Tent City homeless encampment on South Front Street near the Interstate 83 bridge in Harrisburg, where a man was shot in the abdomen and lower extremities and taken to the hospital for emergency treatment. After an investigation, Harrisburg police executed a search warrant on a tent in the encampment and arrested 34-year-old Joshian Pacheco Ferrer in connection with the shooting. During the search, police recovered multiple firearms believed to be associated with the incident. Pacheco Ferrer faces charges of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm prohibited, and recklessly endangering another person, and remains in Dauphin County Prison after being unable to post bail. Authorities continue to investigate the shooting and encourage anyone with information to contact Harrisburg police. The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
