Prashant Kishor, a former election strategist and founder of the Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC), announced that his grassroots campaign Jan Suraaj will become a political party on October 2, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti. The party will contest the Bihar Assembly elections in 2025, aiming to address key issues such as education, healthcare, and employment. Kishor emphasized that he will not lead the party, which will be directed by a Dalit leader and other elected representatives. The campaign has seen significant support, including the joining of notable figures like Jagriti Thakur, granddaughter of former Chief Minister Karpoori Thakur, and former RJD MLC Rambali Singh Chandravanshi. Kishor promises to bring transformative change to Bihar, criticizing current Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's governance. A series of state-level meetings will be held to finalize the party's leadership structure and constitution.
