Taylor Swift's 'The Life of a Showgirl' Breaks Multiple Sales and Streaming Records
Taylor Swift's 12th studio album, 'The Life of a Showgirl,' broke multiple records with 2.7 million copies sold in its first 24 hours, marking the biggest opening day of her career and the second-largest sales week for any album since 1991, only behind Adele's 2015 album '25.' The album set a new record for most vinyl sales in a single week with 1.2 million copies, surpassing Swift's previous record from her 2024 album 'The Tortured Poets Department.' Streaming platforms also reported record-breaking activity, with Spotify naming it the most-streamed album in a single day for 2025, Apple Music confirming the highest single-day streams that year, and Amazon Music calling it their most-streamed album ever in 24 hours. To celebrate the release, Swift premiered a 90-minute concert film titled 'The Official Release Party of a Showgirl,' which grossed $33 million domestically and $46 million worldwide over a three-day AMC theatrical event, making it the biggest album debut event in cinema history. This film follows her previous blockbuster concert film, which remains the highest-grossing concert film globally. Swift's continued commercial success solidifies her place as one of the most influential artists of her generation.
