Virgin Atlantic has announced the discontinuation of flights to the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos, effective February 2025, as part of a network optimization strategy. The final flights will depart from Heathrow on February 21 and 23, respectively. In replacement of these routes, the airline will increase flight frequencies to Antigua, Barbados, and extend its seasonal service to Cape Town. Virgin Atlantic currently operates three weekly flights to the Bahamas and two to Turks and Caicos but will shift focus to boosting services to other Caribbean destinations. The airline has expressed regret over the disappointment this decision may cause to customers and will offer refunds or alternative flight options for those affected. This move follows a broader trend of airlines reassessing routes based on demand and operational viability.
