India Emerges Digital Flagbearer Hosting IMC 2025 With 1.5 Lakh Visitors

India has emerged as a global digital leader, transitioning from a technology follower to a technology flagbearer, according to Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025. The country's telecom revolution is anchored on four pillars: democracy, demography, digital-first, and delivery, with 99.9% of districts connected by 5G and data costs dropping by 98% over the past 11 years. India boasts 1.2 billion mobile subscribers, 365 million 5G users, and is advancing toward securing 10% of global 6G patents through initiatives like the Bharat 6G Alliance. The government’s Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme has spurred significant domestic production and job creation, supporting India's rise as a product nation. Additionally, India’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), built on the JAM trinity (Jan Dhan, Aadhaar, and Mobile), has become a global benchmark for digital inclusion, with 20 countries studying its model. Innovation is now a national movement, extending beyond urban centers into tier-3 cities, with the startup ecosystem growing to 190,000 startups and patent filings doubling since 2014, highlighting India's expanding digital and technological influence globally.
