Suspect Identified in I-75 Shooting Incident
Multiple people were shot along Interstate 75 in Laurel County, Kentucky, on Saturday, with authorities identifying Joseph A. Couch, 32, as a person of interest. Seven people were injured, some by gunfire and others in related vehicle accidents, but no fatalities were reported. The Laurel County Sheriff's Office described the incident as an 'active shooter situation' and warned that Couch should be considered armed and dangerous. The interstate was temporarily shut down but later reopened as law enforcement, including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, continued their search. Governor Andy Beshear and local officials have advised residents to stay indoors and avoid the area. Hospitals in the region have treated multiple patients with minor injuries.
