Bryant University Names Jamion Christian Basketball Coach
Jamion Christian has been named the new head coach for Bryant University's men's basketball team, following the departure of Phil Martelli Jr. to Virginia Commonwealth University. Christian, previously a coach at Mount St. Mary's, Siena, and George Washington, most recently led Italian club Pallacanestro Trieste to a championship in the Italian second division. At Bryant, he will face UAlbany at least twice a season, continuing the competitive rivalry. He expressed excitement about leading Bryant, noting the program's success and progression since joining Division I. University officials praised Christian's deep experience, leadership, and commitment to student-athlete success. A formal introduction is scheduled for April 4, 2025, at Bryant's Quinlan/Brown Academic Innovation Center.
