Paul Aron Joins Alpine as 2025 Reserve Driver

Estonian Paul Aron has been appointed as Alpine's reserve driver for the 2025 Formula One season, replacing Jack Doohan who will take up a race seat following Esteban Ocon's move to Haas. Aron, a standout in the Formula 2 championship with Hitech, has achieved four pole positions and seven podiums, currently ranking fourth in the standings. He was previously part of Mercedes' young driver program but was unaffiliated this year. Alpine's executive advisor, Flavio Briatore, highlighted the generational shift in Formula 1, expressing confidence in Aron's talent and potential. Aron will focus on his F2 title pursuit before transitioning to his role at Alpine. Concurrently, Alpine confirmed the retention of Mick Schumacher for their World Endurance Championship team.
