Twins' Pablo López Out 8–12 Weeks With Injury
Minnesota Twins pitcher Pablo López will be sidelined for 8 to 12 weeks after being diagnosed with a Grade 2 strain of the teres major muscle in his right shoulder. López exited Tuesday’s game against the Oakland Athletics due to shoulder tightness and had previously missed time this season with a hamstring strain. He had posted a 2.82 ERA over 11 starts before the injury. The Twins have called up David Festa from Triple-A St. Paul to fill his spot in the rotation. Team officials indicate they will not seek outside pitching help before the July 31 trade deadline, maintaining a 'status quo' approach. López is expected to return after the All-Star break, possibly for the season’s final month.
