The NFL stated that both teams' medical staffs were reviewed and deemed the care appropriate. Van Noy had initially criticized the lack of urgency in a podcast but later refrained from further comments. Burkholder has since communicated with Ravens coach John Harbaugh to address any misunderstandings. The NFL Players Association has also voiced concerns over the timeliness of player care.
