Veterans Day Celebrations Honor Service and Sacrifice

Veterans Day events across the United States honored the service and sacrifice of military members with ceremonies, speeches, and community gatherings. In Dubuque, Brandi Herring shared her story of service in the U.S. Coast Guard and addressed the sexual assault she experienced, aiming to inspire others to seek help. Middle schools and local communities, including those in Billings and Superior, organized assemblies and parades to recognize veterans, with performances and student participation highlighting the importance of honoring military service. Various American Legion members discussed ongoing support for veterans, emphasizing the community's role in aiding those who served. Additionally, many restaurants offered free meals and discounts to veterans and active-duty military personnel as a token of appreciation.
