Jazz Great Chuck Mangione Dies at 84
Grammy-winning jazz musician Chuck Mangione, best known for his 1978 hit 'Feels So Good,' died peacefully in his sleep of natural causes at his Rochester, New York home on July 22, 2025, at age 84. Mangione was a virtuoso flugelhorn and trumpet player, releasing over 30 albums during a career spanning more than six decades, earning 14 Grammy nominations and winning two. His compositions 'Chase the Clouds Away' and 'Give It All You Got' were featured at the 1976 and 1980 Olympic Games, respectively. Mangione also studied at the Eastman School of Music and was inducted into the Rochester Music Hall of Fame in 2012. He was celebrated for his recurring voice role as himself on the animated series 'King of the Hill,' reaching new audiences. Mangione's warm, melodic jazz style made a lasting impact on both jazz and mainstream music, leaving a celebrated legacy.
