Brian Aalbers, a pediatric neurologist from Kansas City, has pleaded guilty to multiple charges related to child pornography, including 13 counts of attempting to produce child pornography and one count of possession. Aalbers used hidden cameras to record 13 minors over a period from October 2020 to October 2023, amassing over 50,000 video files, with more than 1,000 containing pornographic content. The investigation began following an anonymous tip, and upon arrest, Aalbers' electronic devices were confiscated, revealing extensive evidence of his crimes. Although there is no evidence that current or former patients of Aalbers were victimized, the revelations have shocked and disturbed the community, including parents who trusted him with their children's care. Aalbers could face a sentence of 20 to 30 years in federal prison without the possibility of parole. A sentencing hearing will follow a presentence investigation by the U.S. Probation Office.
