DreamWorks Plans Sequel to The Wild Robot

The Wild Robot, a DreamWorks animated film directed by Chris Sanders, is set to have a sequel as it continues to perform well at the box office. The film features Lupita Nyong’o as the voice of Roz, a robot who learns to survive on an island and becomes a mother to an orphaned gosling named Brightbill, using a unique animation technique that blends CGI with hand-painted visuals. It is expected to stream first on Peacock and then on Netflix in 2025, following a release plan called the pay-1 window. The sequel, based on Peter Brown’s book 'The Wild Robot Escapes', will explore Roz’s adventures in a futuristic world. The film has received praise for its storytelling and emotional depth, drawing comparisons to DreamWorks’ classic, The Prince of Egypt.
