Sean 'Diddy' Combs Sex Trafficking Trial Nears Jury Deliberation
Sean "Diddy" Combs' trial concluded with his defense attorney, Marc Agnifilo, urging the jury to acquit by portraying Combs as a successful Black entrepreneur involved in a consensual swingers lifestyle rather than sex trafficking. Agnifilo criticized the prosecution for exaggerating evidence, dismissing allegations as a "false trial" and emphasizing the consensual nature of the sexual activities, including "freak-offs" which were described as drug-fueled sex parties involving Combs' ex-girlfriends and male escorts. The prosecution, led by Assistant US Attorney Maurene Comey and lawyer Christy Slavik, countered by alleging Combs abused his power, coercing women through drugs and violence, highlighting a 2016 video showing Combs beating ex-girlfriend Casandra Ventura after she tried to leave one such party. Combs' ex-girlfriends testified about being coerced into these encounters, framing the case as one of sex trafficking and racketeering. The defense sought to undermine the credibility of these witnesses by pointing to civil settlements and arguing that the issues were domestic violence, not trafficking. The jury is expected to begin deliberations soon to decide if Combs is guilty of the charges that could lead to a life sentence.
