Arsenal CEO Garlick ascends amid major boardroom reshuffle, Lewis departs
Arsenal Football Club has undergone a significant boardroom reshuffle with Executive Vice-Chair Tim Lewis stepping down and Managing Director Richard Garlick being promoted to Chief Executive Officer. Garlick, who joined Arsenal in 2021 as Director of Football Operations and became Managing Director last year, has been credited with making a substantial impact as the club continues its ambitions to win major trophies while maintaining financial sustainability and fan engagement. Tim Lewis, a long-term advisor to the Kroenke family since 2007, was acknowledged for his pivotal role during a period of transformational change. Alongside Garlick's promotion, new non-executive directors have been appointed, including Kelly Blaha, Otto Maly, long-term Kroenke advisor Dave Steiner, and producer-director Ben Winston, who is also a devoted Arsenal season ticket holder. Arsenal's recent summer transfer activity, investing around £250 million to strengthen the squad, and a promising start to the season, including a Champions League win and a strong Premier League standing, reflect the club's ongoing ambition to end its 21-year league title drought. The Kroenke family expresses confidence that the board's new composition will bring fresh expertise and energy to help achieve Arsenal's strategic goals.
