Everett Police Arrest Couple for Trafficking Minors Across Puget Sound

Everett police arrested a 20-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman on September 10, 2025, in Kent, Washington, on charges of promoting commercial sexual abuse of minors and human trafficking. The investigation began after a 17-year-old girl reported being trafficked through a dating site, where the suspects created a fake profile to arrange paid sexual encounters, transporting the victim across the Puget Sound area. The suspects allegedly managed seven to nine women at a time, including a minor as young as 13 years old, targeting financially vulnerable girls lacking community support. When the victim attempted to leave the operation, the suspects became verbally aggressive and threatened to withhold her earnings. Multiple units within the Everett Police Department collaborated on the case, which involved numerous search warrants and a multi-jurisdictional effort. Police Chief John DeRousse emphasized the importance of holding offenders accountable to protect the community and safeguard vulnerable individuals from exploitation.
