Vienna Confirmed Host Eurovision Song Contest 2026
Vienna, Austria, has been chosen to host the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in May 2026, with the Grand Final scheduled for May 16 and semi-finals on May 12 and 14. This will be Vienna's third time hosting the event, previously doing so in 1967 and 2015, following Austrian singer JJ's victory at the 2025 contest in Basel. The city's successful bid was noted for its strong infrastructure, logistics, and economic appeal, beating Innsbruck which emphasized its alpine location. Host broadcaster ORF and the EBU highlighted Vienna's reputation as a musical hub and its excellent facilities, particularly the Wiener Stadthalle venue. Officials and artists expressed enthusiasm, emphasizing the event's cultural and economic significance and its unifying motto 'United by Music.' Details about the Eurovision Village and additional festivities in Vienna will be announced in the coming months.
